All submitted 2024 applications are still with the Independent Assessment Panel (IAP) – they have until 5pm on 6 December 2023 to complete their review.
Applicants will be notified of the Panel decision from 7 December 2023. We ask for your patience during this process due to the overwhelming amount of submitted applications (almost 2,400!), it will take several weeks to notify everyone. The Panel decision is final.
Please note: Payment 1 ($2,500) cannot be paid until the bursary year and ONLY after all required documents have been uploaded and approved. First 2024 bursary payments will therefore be processed after 8 January 2024, when our office re-opens.
Our Young Carer Team have now processed all 2023 final bursary payments.
Unfortunately, if you missed the closing date (11.59pm on 31 October), you are not eligible to receive the final bursary payment.
The Young Carer Bursary Program supports young carers to continue with their education and reduce their need to undertake paid work at the same time as their study and caring duties.
The program offers 1,592 bursaries of $3,768 each year to assist with education needs and resources.
