What is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)?

A registered training organisation (RTO) is a provider registered by the Australian Standards Qualifications Authority (ASQA) to deliver nationally recognised vocational education training (VET) courses and qualifications.

Registration confirms the provider can meet the rigorous government standards and is permitted to issue nationally recognised qualifications.

Organisations that are not registered will offer you certificates that are not nationally recognised.  These are usually titled “Certificate in XXXX” that do not have a I-IV after the word certificate.
