The MAP Program supports young people in the Canberra region to become more resilient, connected, and job-ready by coupling mental health training with career mentoring and volunteering. The MAP Program aims to increase the mental health literacy of participants, whilst also providing pathways to employment through volunteering.
In February 2021, Volunteering ACT launched the MAP Program and is looking for young people aged 18-25 who are seeking employment to be involved. Program participants embark on a journey to improve their mental health literacy and their employability through a range of activities, including employment workshops, career mentoring with local professionals, and participation in volunteering.
There is no cost to participate in this program thanks to funding provided by the ACT Health Directorate. Participants will be provided with a certificate of completion at the end of the program (October 2021).
