Sophie’s story

Hi! I am Sophie. I am 13 years old and I live in Melbourne Victoria. It’s been 1 year since I have been a young carer for my brother.  I am the oldest of 3 kids in our family.  My brother, was diagnosed with autism when he was 3.5 years old and could not talk at that time and we had to do a lot of speech therapy for him.

My role as carer is we go to school together and wait for him after school and I have to supervise when we go for shopping together.

I like to draw and watch anime and my brother likes to play games like minecraft and roblox.

He is sometimes just cheeky and noisy and gets angry, but I hope he will get better as he grows up.  Thanks for reading my story.
